Sweet Indulgence @ Stanley Street

Warm Choco Lava Indulgence

Found this little shop tucked along the Stanley Street. I ordered the warm choco lava indulgence, which is supposedly one of the signature dessert of the shop. It is essentially like a baked chocolate pudding, with chocolate oozing out when you cut the cake into half. It is served with cut fruits and vanilla ice-cream with almond nuts. I think the ice cream tasted nice, while the pudding was average.

1 Caramel @ The Cathay

Fraise Pistachio Tart

Choco Praline Mousse Cake

This shop is located next to the Grand Cathay building, will be able to see it when you walk from Plaza Singapura to Grand Cathay. The shop has good ambience, and in general, the cakes "look" delicious.

The Fraise Pistachio Tart is nice and unique. The purple filling is probably yam, mixed with pistachio nuts and the combination goes quite together. The cake isnt too sweet and hence, one wont feel too sick eating it.

Choco Praline Mousse Cake: the top layer is consists of a layer of very rich chocolate fudge. I particularly love the praline layer at the bottom, which is crunchy and goes very well with the mousse. Chocolate lovers should not miss this cake. its so chocolatey!

Dapaolo Gastronomia @ Paragon

Lemon and Chocolate Muffins (with asorted sugar icing on top)
These muffins were from onr of the specialty shops at paragon basement. They are famous for their lemon muffins. I tried one and it was quite nice! the muffin itself isnt too sweet. it was just nice. However, the sugar icing on top was really really very sweet though it looks really appetizing and promising. i took a big bite at first (tgt with the icing), and it was really way too sweet for me. The sugar icing laer is very thick. i prefer to scrap some off so that it doesnt taste as sweet tgt with the cake.
Rating: 2.8/5 (could have given 3.5 and above but i took some pts out because of the icing)

Snow Frost @ AMK Hub

Mango snow ice

Heh, what can i say, taiwan is a food haven....anything franchised from taiwan even those way under par could still be decent...And hence the 'xue hua bing' (snowflakes ice) /'mian mian bing'(cotton ice) desserts are one that is hard to pass up when u c it....Wish i could have the ice making machine LOL....So much different from the shaved ice from those normal shops selling ice kachang for those who dunno why is it so popular in taiwan...The ice really melts in the mouth...the mango was really just so so since it doesnt have the freshness of fruits like taiwan has...But hey, its better than nth haha, you should just try it for yourself...

FYI : In taiwan the serving they give is HUGE...lotsa fruits too :)...

Bakerzin @ Jurong Point

New York Cheesecake

Haha, this was 'da-baoed' when we were bored and walking around, then we saw that during the month of june this cake was the 'cake of the month' and had 50% discount off, so we bought it :) The cake was generally nice, you can taste the lemon in it and the bisuit base was pretty good as well, so overall taste, is well, nice haha...Only down side to it was that parts of it was still a bit frozen coz it was placed in refrigeration too long i guess, so some parts tasted a bit hard.

Rating : 3.5/5 (bee thinks its probably not the best cake in bakerzin)

Sercret Recipe @ Marina Square

Chcolate indulgence cake and marble cheesecake

Chocolate indulgence: contains layer of chocolate sponge cake, belgian chocolate and vanilla cream. Sponge layer not too sweet, rich in chocolate taste. Belgian chocolate cream is sweet, mixes well with the sponge layer. Outer layer of cake is coated with chocolate fudge. Well.. secret recipe is afterall still a bit famous for its chocolate cakes.

Bee's rating: 4/5
Sj's rating: 3.5/5 (Sj thinks the sponge taste similar to those of prima deli's/bengawan solo )

Marble cheesecake: cheese layer has a strong butter taste. the cheese needs to be eaten tgt with the cookie base in order for the strong butter taste to mix well with the plain cookie base. We are not very fond of the cake.

on a side note: if you are sick of the sweetness of the cakes, take a sip of their English Breakfast tea.

Bee's rating: 3/5 (not a cheesecake lover)
Sj's rating: 3.5/5 (a cheesecake lover)

Imperial Treasure @ Sentosa Cove one degree 15

Cold red bean soup

Different from traditional Hong Kong style red bean dessert, this was served cold. Lotus seed was added and a tinge of tangerine/orange peels can be tasted. Personaly think that red bean paste should be eaten warm. Lotus seed was too hard, and we personally do not like the tangerine taste in the red bean soup.

on a side note, this restuarant is situated at a nice and serene location (sentosa cove) :)

Benten @ Jurong Point

Ice-cream dessert with fruits

Peach, strawberry, cream puff (vanilla ice cream inside!!!), and finally....swimming in the thick sea of fudge beneath....cornflakes! Surprisingly, all of this mixes well together, if you got sick eating too much fudge then eat a bit of the sour fruits, and vice versa. The cornflakes are like copied from swenson's 'chocalate crunch' where they use cocoa pops. Note to self : should try out Pasta de waraku's dessert. Bee says its similar to this one but nicer.

Bee's rating: 3/5
Sj's rating: 3.5/5 (Bonus 0.5 for the cream puff, i thought it was nice)

Shin Yeh @ Liang Court

Red bean ice dessert

A cold dessert with a good mixture of red bean, ice topped with sweetened condensed milk and fen yuan (starchy yam balls) hidden below the ice! Fen yuan was much nicer than those sold at food court and they are really generous with the serving of the red bean.

Avocado sago (the one in green), Orh Ni (yam paste), Muah chee
Avocado sago: well.. what to say. gal's favourite cos its good, damn gd for complexion! taste wise, it is quite thick, but the taste was not as strong that you will get sick of it after eating the whole bowl. i love it tgt with the sago too:)

Rating: 4/5

Orh Ni: This one is....different....lol...where others traditionally put coconut milk for topping, Wolfberries and some kind of tea was added, giving it an acquired aroma. Hard to compare with the original yam paste since different ingredients are used. We personally love the Chuan Tong Orh Ni, so yea, if you wanna go for sth different, then this might be it.

Rating: 3/5

Muah Chee: Firstly, peanut coating was fine and fragrant. muah chee itself is soft and "Q" (Q here means 'bouncy' texture). FYI this muah chee is complimentary. im not sure if it is becos the huge bill amount or is it becos it's mothers day.
